In our fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life, which can leave us feeling disconnected from our true selves and inner voice. Self-reflection is a practice that can help us slow down, turn inward, and gain insight into our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
Freedom from emotional eating means breaking free from the emotional ties that drive unhealthy eating habits. It's a journey toward of cultivating a mindful and balanced relationship with food, liberating yourself from emotional triggers, and fostering a healthier connection with nourishment.
Since I started writing about diets and health in 2008, I’ve seen countless trends come and go (looking at you, HCG diet and “toning” shoes). I’ve also seen some truly awful advice posted on message boards and Facebook by people trying to shed pounds and—sadly—even by health professionals peddling quick fixes, outdated ideas, and their own unhealthy habits.
It's uncommon for people to eat with their hands throughout the United States and other Western cultures. We usually dive into breakfast, lunch, and dinner with forks and spoons blazing, all in the name of maintaining our well-established table manners — and as a way of keeping our fingers clean.
